Chapt 3: numbers 14, 21,,25,
Chapt 5: numbers 1,6,8,13,15,16
The midterm will cover the full material from Chapters 1-3. From Chapter 5 you are responsible only for the
above homework's questions. You are responsible for the chapter 4 material on polynomials, but only in the sense that a polynomial may appear at some point in a question and you may need to use one of the facts there (which you presumably knew before you took this class).

As we know, the simplest vector space is the zero vector space. My question is my basis for the zero vector space is the empty set, but not the zero vector??
Thanks.
Correction:
"My question is WHy basis for the zero vector space is the empty set, but not the zero vector??"
No list including the zero vector is linearly independent, so it can't be a member of any basis.
When is the next assignment coming out?
